A beautifully restored vintage Ferrari 225E

There is a little bit of racing history that this sports car made in its youth…..

A 1952 Ferrari 225E, chassis 0178, was recently restored after two years of work by the Ferrari Classiche department in Maranello, Italy. The project was a great challenge for Classiche as the car, which belongs to an Argentinean collector, arrived at the Ferrari factory in a terrible state of repair, having been partially destroyed in a fire.

It was quite an impressive field that gathered at Paul Ricard recently for the first ELMS test in 2016. 42 cars, with all three classes, LMP2, the new LMP3 and LMGTE showing up. During two days of testing in mainly dry conditions – apart from the last hour of day 2 – and with temperatures up to 17 degrees, they already gave a nice impression about what to expect of the coming season which will start at 15th/16th of April at Silverstone during the WEC weekend.

Japan’s Custom Sports Cars

sports car Kyushu Danji NSX

I suppose a auto smart person could take a basic car and rebuild it to his satisfaction from parts manufactured by car makers….

Take the Kyushu Danji NSX for example – a machine that only shows up at Tsukuba Circuit a couple of times a year as its owner lives at the opposite end of the country. The first time I came across the Honda was back in February 2011 when it largely still resembled a street-tuned car. It already had widened bodywork, but not anywhere as extreme as the GT500-inspired aero outfit it wears these days. Of course, everything you see around the car and underneath it too is brutally functional.
